Why Japanese Design?

The visual language of this design draws from Japanese culture that often reflect ideals of quiet resilience, perseverance, and dignity in the face of hardship. In Japanese culture, there is a deep respect for the idea of continuing forward with strength and composure, even when circumstances are difficult.

One expression that reflects this mindset is がんばる (ganbaru) — the idea of continuing to do your best and keep going, no matter the obstacles in front of you.

That philosophy felt deeply aligned with the spirit Graffiti has shown throughout this journey. His strength has never been loud or dramatic. It has been steady, determined, and forward-moving — the kind of resilience that simply keeps going.

For us, this symbolism also carries personal meaning. Momma Serbant is half Japanese, and these themes of endurance and inner strength felt like a natural way to reflect the mindset that has carried Graffiti this far.

The phrases used throughout the design echo that same spirit — keep going, give it everything, stay strong, and move forward one day at a time.
